Tunisian CAL: Month 5 – The Tunisian Full Stitch

Tunisian Full Stitch

Tunisian Full Stitch

Materials:

  • Worsted Weight Yarn
  • Size I (5.5 mm) Tunisian Crochet Hook or size needed for gauge
  • Yarn needle to weave in ends

Gauge:
Approx 4 stitches and 4 rows = 1 inch (2.5 cm)

Directions: (make 2)
Chain any number. (For tote, ch 18)

Row 1: (Part 1) Insert hook in 2nd ch from hook, YO, pull up loop; (insert hook in next ch, YO, pull up loop) across to end of ch leaving all loops on the hook

(Part 2) YO, pull through 1st loop on hook; (YO, pull through 2 loops on hook) across until one loop remains on the hook.

Row 2: (Part 1) Skip first vertical bar, (insert hook under next crossbar space, YO, pull up a loop) across, ending by skipping the last crossbar space and inserting hook in last vertical bar, YO pull up a loop; leaving all loops on hook.

(Part 2) YO, pull through 1st loop on hook; (YO, pull through 2 loops on hook) across until one loop remains on the hook.

Row 3: (Part 1) Skip first vertical bar and first crossbar space, (insert hook under next crossbar space, YO, pull up a loop) across, ending by inserting hook in last vertical bar, YO pull up a loop; leaving all loops on hook.

(Part 2) YO, pull through 1st loop on hook; (YO, pull through 2 loops on hook) across until one loop remains on the hook.

Repeat Rows 2  and 3 for pattern.

Last Row:  Skip first vertical bar, (insert hook under next vertical bar, YO, pull up a loop; YO, Pull through both loops on hook) across to end. Fasten Off.

    Can’t wait to try this one. I’m really having fun with these different stitches. I am coming to New Hampshire this June, and I hope to get to meet you since I’ve taken 3 of your online courses. It would be nice. I’m sure this stitch will look great. My blocks are all looking good. Thanks. :)

    I just recently started crocheting and I’m totally in love with Tunisian! I’m currently making a triangle shawl using the Tunisian full stitch starting top down. Love the look and feel of the fabric :D It’s about 6′ by 5″ right now. I used worsted weight Caron One Pound and a P hook with 52″ tail. I’ve also made more dense headbands with the same stitch and a softer yarn on an N hook. Love it :D
