I am having so much fun with beads lately!

Published by Karen under Crochet, General Chit-Chat

I have been working a lot with my stash of beads lately.  I have been crocheting with them a lot to get ready for my class in New Hampshire next week. For those of you attending… I will have this one that I completed last night:

But I have had this urge lately to make a real regular beaded Bracelet.  I had these word Beads for ever and nothing to do with them… today I made this!

Bon Jovi - San Jose, California

Published by Karen under Bon Jovi

OK I know I am a couple of days late with this, but as I had to fly from Seattle to Cali then back this stuff takes so much longer!

Im starting from the begining!

I left my house Tuesday Morning at 4:30 AM to head to the airport. My flight was to leave Seattle at 7:35 AM. So Everything was great when I got to the parking garage, and then they shuttled me to the airport.

I checked in.. took 40 minutes in line to get through security. And guess what…. I set off the metal detector.  So I had to be searched… guess what it was?!? My underwire! Good Grief!

So after that humiliating experience, I head to starbucks to get coffee and a scone.. then head to the gate. 15 minutes later.. they announce my flight is CANCELED due to maintenance issues!! SO off to cutomer service I go. Originally I was to land in Oakland at 9:30 am.. and the next flight I could get on left 5 hours later! So I got a flight to San Francisco that left at 8:30 instead.. and they promised me that my bag would be transfered to the SF flight.

I land at SFO, go to baggage claim.. Mom and my sister are there waiting for me. NO BAG. It went to OAKLAND. So we had to drive to the Oakland airport to get my bag… Thank GOD it got there and Oakland isnt far!

My family lives in the east bay, and traffic from Dublin to SJ is usually KILLER during commute hours even though the HP Pavilion only takes 37 minutes in regular traffic. SO we left at 4 PM and got to the arena at 5! We were first in line for FC tix. I got to meet a lot of FC members (Tonya and Liz for San Jose, Emily and Gloria from the Seattle area!) and got pictures taken with them! We were ticket only and got Section 1, row 11 seats 11 and 12. They were closer than my 8th floor tix in Vancouver! Of course I was on Hugh’s side.. but I was 2 seats from the aisle next to the center section so I had a really good view of the stage.. and especially great view to see David!

Daughtry was totally awesome and their show pumped me up for the boys. I think my sister thought I was a nut case already at that point. Diane is SO not a BOn Jovi Fan.. but she likes Daughtry. I told her before that she would be converted after the show…

When Bon Jovi Took the stage… OMG I KNEW from the opening of Lost Highway it was going to be a show that was out of this world!!! The boys are always on the top of their game.. but it seemed to me that Jon and David were both especially playful! When Jon talked about Miss 4th of July He made mention of writing it at a time with something about watching Richie with girls. Richie and David just busted out laughing.. and then Richie said something about paying for that privilige now. I wish I caught it all but they were laughing so hard it was hard to make out!

For me Miss 4th of July was a highlight. Seeing David play the accordian live was a HUGE dream of mine and I never thought I would ever get to see that! The part that was really strange was that most of the audience around us left the floor when the song started. The people who stayed didnt seem to know the song at all! So I was able to get out into the aisle and take pics of David and Richie together.

I should mention too that quiet a few of the people in front of us would SIT (I know crazy) for a lot of the show. But for me that was AWESOME because I could dance, sing and become 16 all over again and got a few smiles out of Jon for it too!

Another highlight for me was I’ll Be There for You. Jon and Richie were on the platform in the audience, so.. I got back out in the aisle and made my way to the front barricade to take pictures of David. But he had his back to me and wasnt turning around. Lorenza saw me and caught my eye. She shrugged! LOL! Then a minute later David happened to look up at Lorenza, and she took her bow and pointed at me!  David turned around with this HUGE Grin and I got to snap the picture!! (and a few others too!) After that, he would smile and sing with me too when he was facing our direction!

But the absolute best part was seeing MY CHILDREN on the big screen during ILTT. From my girls who went to other shows I knew when to expect them to show up, so I had my camera taping it. WHen I saw them.. I screamed “those are my babies” and my sister and I were pointing! I just happened to glance over at David… he actually smiled and pointed at me.. then nodded and pointed to the screen. So I *think* he knew I was talking about my kids. I wish I would have had the presence of mind to tape him doing that!

Anyway.. The show just rocked.. That is all I can say. The boys had a fire in them and it showed!

After the show… My sister and I were talking as we walked to the car. She told me that she loved it and that now she understands my obsession. She did comment about how her 41 year old older sister becomes a crazed teenager with all things related to David Bryan. So I said… “Do you see why I have been a David Bryan fan for 25 years now?”

And she says… “No, I just dont get that.. he does nothing for me. But that Jon Bon Jovi… his smile could melt paint off walls. And Richie is pretty darn hot too.”

So I guess you could say… She has started the conversion to fandom!

Here is a link to my Pictures. I had a new camera, and a lot of them are blurred because I am still learning to use it.. but they are mine and I love them!

WARNING: I would apologize for all the David pics you will see.. but I can’t… Im not a Joker Girl for nothing you know!

And here is the video of my kids on the big screen It is almost at the end. As you will see.. I moved the camera AFTER David nodded at me!

Oh and I should mention… the flight home was as bad as the flight there.. 2 hour delay because of a case of wine that broke in the cargo hold!

The things I will endure for my boys!

Thank YOU Bon Jovi for another wonderful night!!!
